In-house test method and fixture development
Powering up a board is not enough to validate industrial electronics. We develop test methods and service fixtures for functional validation outside the original machine — using defined states and measurable responses.
When powering up is not the whole test
Some repairs require simulation of selected operating states, inputs and outputs, loads or communication. A dedicated methodology helps establish what to verify and under which conditions — even when the original machine is unavailable. We tailor the scope to the electronics and the documentation available.
From analysis to a repeatable test
- Analyse the function of the electronics
- Define test points and states
- Design a service fixture or wiring setup
- Simulate the required inputs, loads or communication
- Measure the responses of the electronics
- Repeat functional testing after repair
This is a high-level process overview, not a disclosure of internal schematics, specific wiring or sensitive know-how.
Technical example: E-LIFT ECUmega_UD
The PCB bears the visible markings ECUmega_UD, E-LIFT and CAN/DUP. For this real case, EZAS developed its own test methodology and service wiring setup for functional verification of control electronics outside the original machine. We do not infer the precise functions of the interfaces from these markings.
The example concerns methodology and service wiring development — it does not claim that EZAS designed the entire E-LIFT tester or its PCB. Naming the equipment does not imply a partnership or manufacturer endorsement.
What functional validation can cover
In industrial electronics diagnostics, functional testing checks defined responses. A custom test fixture or test jig establishes the conditions for PCB functional validation. Not every function can be verified outside the machine; we determine a suitable scope case by case.
- HMI and operator units
- Control PCBs
- Power supply and I/O sections
- Communication interfaces
- Operating controls
Verify responses before returning the equipment
The aim is to determine whether repaired electronics respond consistently to defined test states. A repeatable post-repair test helps verify the repair within the chosen methodology; it does not replace testing every condition in the original machine.
